Achieving Peace on Earth
When I was a little boy, news anchor Walter Cronkite was voted “the most trusted man in America.” He earned that trust through fair and objective reporting, while not shying away from offering an occasional bit of social commentary, as suggested here.
He’s right, of course. No one questions why we need a three-quarter trillion dollar annual military budget, but when someone suggests that we educate our children to make sure they’re capable of critical thinking and perhaps developing technology that brings the world closer together, the question becomes “How are you going to pay for that?”
If everyone in the world advocates peace and firmly believes that peace can bring us a better life, then we will definitely go beyond the better.
