Today’s Society May Not Be Sustainable, But Not Everybody Cares

There’s a great deal of truth in the graphic here, but it really isn’t a perfect analogy.  If you’re an amoral member of the top 1%, there’s no reason for you to concern yourself with the well-being of other members of society.  This planet may be baking like a potato, but there will always be plenty of fast cars, country clubs, attractive sex partners, juicy steaks, champagne, and all the other trappings of luxury life.

This, of course, is why most billionaires love Trump.  While he’s entertaining the rabble with his outrageous antics, they’re getting rich beyond measure.

True, the middle class is being squeezed out of existence, but how bad can this be?   So the United States becomes an oligarchy.  What’s the downside there–when you’re one of the oligarchs?

So sometimes I don’t think too much emphasis on freedom has any benefits. When things happen, all people’s efforts are needed, not individuality.
