Pre- and Post-Inauguration Violence May Be Inevitable, But It Will Be Short-Lived
From this:
The fringe right-wing lawyer who filed the court challenge to Donald Trump’s election loss in Georgia has called on the president’s supporters to stock up on “Second Amendment supplies” — presumably firearms and ammunition — to prepare for what he apparently envisions as an apocalyptic future.
“Our leader is Donald Trump, not Biden,” attorney Lin Wood tweeted Sunday.
“Make sure you have PLENTY of water, food, flashlights & batteries, candles, radio, 2nd Amendment supplies, & a plan to meet with leaders of your communities,” he urged. He included a photo of Trump with the caption: “I’m still your president.”
A few points:
Inciting violence is illegal.
Almost all Americans are law-abiding, and rightfully demand that their government protect them from terrorists–of all races and religions.
Although there may be a lunatic fringe in U.S. law enforcement and the military, the vast majority of these people are sane and decent people who have sworn to uphold the Constitution, and will not tolerate lawlessness.
It’s 100% clear from the remarks made by several retired generals and admirals that the top brass in the U.S. military consider Trump a grave threat to national security, and will be thrilled to have the opportunity to remove him via any lawful means.
As far as Trump’s base of hateful morons is concerned, it appears that nothing can be done to prevent some level of gun violence–though, as suggested in the pics below, it’s not likely to get too far.
