A World Anxious To Forget Steven Miller
Though he has left the White House, Donald Trump will be all over the news for the foreseeable future, probably right up to the point that he either goes to prison or he flees the country to avoid prosecution.
But not the same can be said about many of the monsters who made up his entourage. At noon EST today, Stephen Miller, Trump’s senior advisor, became as irrelevant to the national political scene as I am. Soon it will be forgotten that he architected and put in place the logistics for the president’s cruel and grossly illegal policy on asylum seekers to the U.S.
All the torture and other forms of misery he inflicted on hundreds of thousands of innocent and desperate people will soon seem so remote and distant as if none of this had happened. The international community will eventually come to forgive us, and re-establish their respect for this nation as a land of decency, fairness, and lawfulness.
The nation has awakened from a four-year nightmare, and is ready to shake it off and begin the work of a new day.
