Are All Politicians Insincere?

The meme here is funny, but it’s not 100% true.

My mom is a political junkie who has little patience for liberals, but even she has to smile when I ask her about Bernie Sanders. “Oh, poor Bernie.  He really does want to help, doesn’t he?”

Yes, he does indeed.  His dream, to distill it to its essence, is to fashion the United States so it functions more like Western Europe and Scandinavia.  Higher incremental taxes on high-income people fund a panoply of highly valued social services like healthcare and education.

This means a more affluent, less crime-ridden, less cruel and hateful society.  High-paying jobs (McDonald’s workers start at $15.80/hour), little homelessness, no one dying of treatable diseases, and a sense of pride in the national community are evident wherever one goes, because there’s a national fiber to be proud of–one that simply doesn’t exist in the United States.

QAnon, stolen elections, and other idiocies are not issues, as no one is so ignorant to believe them.

Not surprisingly, these countries consistently rank at the very top of the World Happiness Ratings.
