Ridding the World of Mosquitoes: Quite a Challenge

A Brilliant College Student (shown below) Builds a Device To Rid The World of Mosquitoes.

I like the claim here: “ridding the world of mosquitoes.” And I love how all these wonderful new devices are coming out of brilliant young people, army vets, frustrated home-owners, or whatever.

Let’s do some math. Mosquitoes are pests to every part of the globe except the oceans (seas and large lakes), deserts, and frozen areas.  That includes almost all of South America and Africa, most of North America, Australia, and Europe, and a lot of Asia. It’s about 40 billion square miles, or about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 square feet (one quintillion). One of these devices covers a bedroom, say 200 square feet. So we’ll need 5 quadrillion devices.

Shouldn’t be a problem. Especially they offer a discount for the purchase of multiple items:
