The Stolen Election
My associate Tom Solari is a “Trump won” conspiracy theorist, though he’s anything but a dolt. Anyone interested in what he believes about the “stolen election” is free to read it here. At the core is his belief that anyone who asserts that the election was not rigged is prohibited from saying so. My response:
What you’re asserting here isn’t “prohibited speech.” At the expense of your own credibility, you’re free to say whatever you want. Having said that, if it were I, I’d be concerned about taking a position that is roundly ridiculed from everyone and everything from the entire U.S. justice apparatus, the lower and appellate courts, and the SCOTUS, to Trump sycophant AG William Barr.
It’s a position taken only by the extreme right “news sources” whose defense when sued for libel is: “no one’s stupid enough to believe anything we present” (which actually has succeeded against numerous plaintiffs). In other words, I’d be concerned about looking like an absolute fool.
But again, that’s just me.
