Anti-Vaxxers Know No Limits

If you think that certain strains of illogical beliefs are just too insane to court a wide news viewership, think again.  Here we have an anchor from the ultra-right wing Newsmax expressing his viewpoint on vaccinations:

What I’ve always thought about vaccines, and I always think about just nature, and the way everything works, and I feel like a vaccination in a weird way is just generally kind of going against nature. I mean, if there’s some disease out there, maybe there’s just an ebb and flow to life where something is supposed to wipe out a certain amount of people and that’s just kind of the way evolution goes, vaccines kind of stand in the way of that.

There was a similar idea promulgated recently about masks, where someone pointed out that God didn’t give us masks, and that therefore they shouldn’t be worn.  I thought the response was clever: “Do you wear shoes?”

The argument against vaccines is just as pathetic.  The idea that humankind’s developing medical technology for its own preservation stands in defiance of nature is just one more example of the shocking stupidity of which we are capable.  That we choose to put it on television makes it even worse.
