Trump Supports January 6th Insurrectionists
Ex-president Trump announced yesterday, “Our hearts and minds are with the people being persecuted so unfairly” in connection with the attack, which he called a “protest concerning the Rigged Presidential Election.”
In addition to the five deaths there were 140 injuries. A lost finger tip. Heads smashed with baseball bats, flag poles and pipes.
Trump believes that charging the rioters criminally is unfair persecution.
So here we are, eight months after the first insurrection, listening to Trump praise those who gave police officers concussions and inflicted other grievous bodily damage, thus encouraging more of the same.
If we weren’t dealing with incitement to riot then, we certainly are now. At this point, we have the luxury of hindsight; we have experience that shows us precisely what happens in these events.
Over the coming months and years, it’s possible that Trump will go down for the litany of crimes we now associate with him–election tampering and the rest. Now, however, and I mean right this minute, we have the clear and present danger that he represents to law enforcement and other innocent people.
Arrest him. Now.
