America’s National Voting Identification Card
As my mom and I were discussing on the phone the other day, there is precisely nothing in U.S. political life that is agreed upon by Democrats and Republicans. If one side wants something, the other side is automatically dead set against it.
And there is no better example than the laws that concern voting. Most Republicans still believe, without any evidence, that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump, largely because that’s what the former president continues to claim, i.e., that massive voter fraud brought him down.
This is the basis for their demand that we implement a national voter ID card.
The hypothetical discussion above shows how spurious this argument is.
