From CNBC: 14 GOP State Attorneys General Sue Biden Administration over Oil and Gas Leasing Moratorium
Key points from their article:
• Fourteen states including Louisiana and Wyoming filed suit on Wednesday against President Joe Biden’s moratorium on new oil and natural gas leases on public lands and waters.
• Biden’s order on Jan. 27 to pause new leasing was part of a series of executive actions to address climate change and curb planet-warming carbon emissions.
• The president also directed the secretary of the Interior Department to begin a thorough review of existing permits for fossil fuel development.
If this civilization effectively combats climate change, it won’t be because the United States did much to help. At least that’s the conclusion anyone would draw from looking at the past and present.
In their quest of further enriching their donor base, Republicans are fighting every effort on America’s part to dial back and eventually phase out the consumption of fossil fuels.
Insofar as this shows no sign of abating, the effort to save the planet from incineration is getting more difficult and more expensive with each passing year.
