The Climate Crisis “Was Avoidable”
Climate activists tell us that we could have avoided setting the planet on fire. They’re right, of course. But making that happen would have required the executive teams at a large group of the world’s largest corporations to have been brave, bold, and honest.
Now, this was 40 years ago, a time before corporate ethics went completely out the window, and we saw things like Wells Fargo’s widespread mistreatment of customers, and Volkswagen’s fraud committed against 11 million customers (and everyone else on the planet who has lungs). Still, it would have required guts.
Here we sit, still struggling like hell to get Big Oil to do the right thing, and wondering if it’s too late, even in the miraculous circumstance that they make a radical shift in direction.
