Gore Looks to the Youth to Fight Climate Change

There was a pop song about 30 years ago that began, “I believe the children are our future,” which I found amusing. I wish I could have interviewed the lyricist and asked him if his initial idea was that old people were our future, but then discarded the notion when he realized that they’re going to be dead soon.

Yes, if we have a future, it will be because young people refused to accept business as usual and somehow found a way to reshape the entire structure of human society such that it respects the natural world and harmonizes with it, rather that exploiting it for the profit of a few.
