What Happened to Tulsi Gabbard?

Have you ever had the unpleasant experience of learning that someone you admired was actually a terrible person?

Here’s former U.S. Rep Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) writing to Elon Musk:

The fearful, hysterical reaction by those in power and their MSM mouthpieces to all Americans being allowed to exercise our freedom of speech exposes their tyrannical tendencies, their fear of the American people, and hate for our Constitution/Bill of Rights.

How disappointing.  Here’s someone who flashed some pretty good ideas when she came on the scene perhaps 10 years ago, and helped Bernie Sanders with his presidential bid in 2016.  Now, for some reason, she’s sliding to the right, coming out against abortion and LGBTQ rights.

She’s not an idiot. She knows that there is no imperative for private organizations to uphold “free speech.”  Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and the others all have perfectly valid policies that forbid posting things like hate speech, anti-science material that endangers the reader community, insurrectionist rhetoric, etc.  This has nothing to do whatsoever with the Constitution and its Bill of Rights, and she knows that damn well.

What she also knows is that the garden-variety Trump supporter does not understand what I’ve just written above.

Using one’s senior knowledge base to convince morons of total bull**** is a reprehensible thing to do.
