The Modern Era in America
We live in a day in which so many elements of our society have changed, perhaps irrevocably, and most definitely for the worse.
Overt white nationalism, widespread corporate fraud (e.g., Wells Fargo and Volkswagen), the encouragement of gun violence, a coup attempt that has, to date, gone largely unpunished, the rejection of science, the unchecked collapse of public education, our indifference to environmental devastation, and our broad allegiance to a sociopathic former president.
Most of us want to return to the period in our recent history when our country, admittedly cruel and otherwise imperfect in dozens of different ways, was at least not criminally insane.
