Siding with the Insurrectionists

Remarkably, only nine Republicans voted for a House bill that would prevent future presidents from overturning the results of our elections.  That’s right; 203 House Republicans voted no on this cut-and-dried coup prevention bill.

It’s amazing that people who call themselves “patriots” will not vote to preserve that which our Founding Fathers treasured most highly, i.e., political power in the hands of the American people.

In practice, however, it’s unlikely (IMO) that the United States will experience another coup attempt.  More than 800 insurrectionists have been charged, convicted, and punished.  And now, it appears that the top architects are going down hard.
