Wireless EV Charging
Below is a video presentation from the CEO of HEVO, a player in the wireless (inductive) EV charging space.
Perhaps the coolest features demonstrated here are the dozens of different elements of software that help drivers find charging points, make reservations, align their cars to the charging mat, and then access real-time information as to the actual charging process and the health of their battery.
The demo in the video is done on a 2012 Nissan Leaf, whose battery health turns out to be 61%, which is terrible. If I were into writing puns, I might say that it’s terminally ill. In fact, it’s recommended that EV owners get new batteries at 80%, and recycle their old ones to people who will use them for grid storage.
