Respecting Those Who Protect Us
In response to the meme here, Eddy Oriente Balzola writes: Not when they act like thugs. Otherwise, respect indeed.Exactly, Eddy. All good people respect soldiers and police personnel, but, at the same time, hold them accountable for abiding by the law.
I totally agree with Eddie on this one.
Being a Vietnam Era Vet and having been spit on by more than one sniveling little snark – that I made sure they always “quietly paid” for what they had done with “their own blood on their hands” afterwards.
There is no room for “cutting anybody any slack” — when they “don’t have any skin in the game / commitment” to keeping this country safe.
