What is impossible to understate – is the depth of depravity that Trump’s Republican backers will go to let him commit treason.

I’m reminded of when the Army of the Potomac having been expertly trained by George McClellan, declined to vote him into the White House, recognizing him as an appeaser of the South, and instead voted for Lincoln who at the same time wanted to limit slavery and preserve the union, and ended up doing fair job of both. While Lincoln urged us toward the better angels of our nature, many in the South viewed his election as the greatest evil that ever be felt the country.

When Lincoln was presented with the idea of delaying the election until the war had concluded, he wisely observed that, if the war could prevent the election, it could be argued that the South had already won.

He was then reelected. Just 52 days later, and 5 days after Lee’s surrender, Lincoln was assassinated by the country’s most famous actor. His Vice President, Johnson, then became a willing tool for the destruction of Reconstruction.

It is my hope that our modern service people – recognizing the open and deeply callous contempt exhibited toward them by the Stable Genius – will render our country a similar service this November in the re-election of Joe Biden.

While there is no doubt in my mind that Biden is not an ideal candidate, there is also no doubt in my mind that he has represented a gargantuan improvement over the fumbling depravity of his predecessor.
