When Trump Learned that He Lost the Election, He Went Berserk

A few hours ago, the world watched White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson provide many examples in under-oath testimony to the effect that then-President Donald Trump behaved like an unhinged lunatic when he learned that he had lost the election, e.g., throwing his lunch across the dining room, smashing it against a wall.  Earlier in the day, he had grabbed the wheel from his limousine driver, and assaulted one of  his Secret Service agents when they refused to take him to the Capitol.

Characteristically, Trump went immediately onto his social media site and blogged that this never happened, that Hutchinson simply invented these stories.

One thing I find interesting is that all testimony to the effect that the former president attempted to overthrow the United States has been delivered under oath, and all the suggestions that he’s innocent carry no weight of perjury.  Of course, this could all be a nasty coincidence.

It’s hard to imagine that the U.S. electorate isn’t deeply moved by these proceedings.  Yes, many Trump supporters ignore the committee’s work, but it’s not easy to avoid it altogether.

Today, for instance, we had firsthand testimony from a credible witness showing that Trump is a deranged animal.  We avoided becoming an autocracy by a whisper.
