What About Liz Cheney?

When it became clear that Liz Cheney was taking this tack (see left) in her political career, I joined millions of Americans in expressing my respect for her courage and integrity.

Since then, I’ve asked several Republicans, even those who want to see Trump incarcerated, what they think about Cheney as a presidential candidate, and none has been at all enthusiastic about the idea.

I really don’t get this.  She’s honest and extremely conservative.  Is there something that today’s GOP doesn’t like about that?

  1. Scott McKie says:

    Two things about this post:

1.) There is nothing “wrong” about being a Conservative” — which Liz Chaney is.
2.) there is everything “wrong about being a “Conservative” — when you make a statement, i.e., “I will do everything to see that Donald Trumpo is ‘not reelected'” (paraphrase — I think) and not follow through on it.

For reasons known only to her — up untill now she has remained silent.
But one might just wait until the results of the primary are known and the real election begins — and then see what she either does, or doesn’t do –“before passing judgement” — because that is when “it will count”.

    She is no political light-weight.
And she is from and lives in a section of the US that is as “head in the sand – “I will ‘follow’ / not lead” / “wing nut / crazy as it gets.
I know — I’ve lived there –and glad to be gone.

The GOP is “dsroyed / lost” as “we knew it” — taken over by the MAGA Nazis.
But Liz Cheney is not one of them.
