Assessing Trump as November Approaches
From the November Coalition:
Donald Trump says he thinks Americans like it when he says he’s willing to suspend the Constitution. The comment appears in a just-published Time Magazine interview on what a second Trump presidency would look like. In the interview, Trump says he will launch a deportation campaign impacting millions of immigrants on day one. And, he is willing to use the U.S. military to do it. He reasons that he is not bound by the Posse Comitatus Act, the law that traditionally restricts the use of military force against civilians, because “they’re not civilians.”
The interview is filled with Trump’s threats, promises, and lies covering deportations, criminal justice, and potential violence if he loses the next election. It’s a chilling reminder that only four of the 44 cabinet members who served in Trump’s White House have endorsed him. How can we not heed the warnings of the people closest to Trump?
