A Talk with Dad

Like so many of his college friends in the early 1940s, my father (temporarily) dropped out to fight in WW2.  Dad happened to become a B17 (bomber) pilot, running missions out of London, destroying Nazi oil refineries.  Also like his friends, he was thrilled to come home when the war was over in 1945.

Dad left us in 2010, a few months before his 90th birthday, and Mom and I still have discussions as to how her late husband would have regarded Trump.  He was a conservative life-long Republican, but he was a fair and honest man.  It’s hard for me to imagine his supporting a clearcut enemy of democracy.

I so wish I could have a talk with Dad.
