Booming Market for Electric Bikes

Yesterday, I had the good fortune to speak with Brian Nordwall, the proprietor of Electric Bike Seattle, a retailer/distributor for the very hottest products from all over the world in the e-bike arena. I was completely impressed with the depth of Brian’s knowledge – not only about the products, but also about the sociological trends, the changing demographics, and the enormous number of business-to-business opportunities that this burgeoning market space offers: resorts, cruise lines, corporate campuses, etc.

When Brian told me that some models get 100 miles’ range, I asserted that anyone who wants to be on a vehicle like that for 100 miles is profoundly defective.  Brian disagrees, and told me stories of people all over the world — some in their 70s — who are taking incredible trips using e-bikes.

Brian also has a terrific location; anyone going to a Mariners’ or Sea Hawks’ game – or heading to the famous Pike Place Fish Market — walks right by his place.  If you’ve never seen their quaint “fish throwing” custom, you gotta check this out and put it on your list.  Then go and get yourself an e-bike.
