Wall Street Journal Covers Ocean Wave Energy – But Why?
Here’s an article in the Wall Street Journal that presents a short summary of different types of devices that generate electricity by converting the kinetic energy from ocean waves.
I was a WSJ subscriber for many years when I was younger, but I cancelled about 10 years ago when I realized that essentially everything I was reading there carried a certain slant, which I would characterize as follows: “pretending that important issues in social and environmental justice do not exist, while going out of its way to portray life in America as cheery and affluent.” I believe that it is for this reason that the WSJ tends to cover renewable energy technologies that have relatively little potential to change the world, while ignoring the main facts on the table regarding our generation and consumption of energy:
• Fossil fuels actually will be going away over the coming few decades, but
• Until we make this happen, our reliance on them will continue to create tremendous harm to human health and our environment.
