In the Development of Clean Energy Technology, Heroes Win Prizes, Frauds Go To Prison
I’m happy and proud that many hundred 2GreenEnergy readers have relied on me over the past few years for my feedback on the validity of new concepts in clean energy vis-à-vis the laws of physics. Sadly, though, almost all of what I receive in this vein fails even the most basic tests of legitimacy; the ideas tend to come either from crackpots (who, by definition, believe their stories), or, more commonly, from frauds (who know they are lying, but do so in an effort to dupe gullible investors).
These submissions tend to trickle in at the rate of perhaps one per week, but yesterday (Sunday), normally a slow one, was a banner day at 2GreenEnergy: two completely ridiculous ideas – in this case, both from people I’m sure are frauds (though it’s sometimes hard to tell the difference).
I started off my morning with this: “Hi Craig – Is there anything to this story on Sun-Gas?” My answer: No, this is bulls**t of the highest order, and, if there is any justice, these people will be in prison in a matter of minutes after they take their first dollar from their first investor. I have to say how floored I am with how utterly shameless this guy is, though. It’s like robbing a bank full of video cameras without even thinking about wearing a ski mask; I find that impressive in some perverse way.
Later this afternoon I noticed that someone had asked for my input on the soon-to-be-famous “Two-Stage Mechanical Oscillator – Free Energy Device” – perhaps an even more egregious bunch of malarkey.
Is any of this surprising? Of course not. The Old West had its snake-oil salespeople, and the 21st Century has a new breed of fraudster, yet he is one who speaks a very familiar language: a promise of quick riches for those who don’t see the need to look into the science behind a potential investment.
I’ll close this post with this: it’s remarkable how much time and money goes into these presentations—not to mention talent. The guy in the Sun-Gas video has fabulous abilities in public speaking. Couldn’t he have done something with his life that wouldn’t wind him up making license plates?
