Even Republicans Resent Being Bullied by Koch Industries

Even Republicans Resent Being Bullied by Koch IndustriesWhat a topsy-turvy world.  Here we have a Republican senator bawling out Koch Industries front-group “Americans for Prosperity.”  Nancy Detert (R-FL) voiced her displeasure with the AFP for aggressively targeting her for replacement because she isn’t far enough to the right:

“I appreciate the mail-outs that you do against me on a monthly basis that say I give money to Hollywood moguls, which, of course, I don’t have any money to give, and neither does the state of Florida give money to Hollywood moguls.

“You’re all on the Koch brothers’ payroll. Good for you. I’m glad you’re all employed … I hope you’re getting paid a lot of money to show up to these meetings and say meaningless things.

“Obviously you’re for prosperity for yourself and not anyone else … You people serve absolutely no purpose.”

The Republicans talk about reframing their party, and coming more in step with the sensibilities of the common American; clearly Senator Detert has taken a step in the right direction here.  Nice going!
