A Few Data Points on Energy and the Environment from a True Master of the Subject

A Few Words on Energy and the Environment from a True Master of the SubjectWe all know the wonderful story of Lincoln’s speech at Gettysburg and its ‘opening act,” an incredibly brilliant and touching two-hour speech by Edward Everett, one of U.S. history’s greatest orators.  Later, Everett wrote to Lincoln, expressing his admiration of the president’s words, saying “I should be glad if I could flatter myself that I came as near to the central idea of the occasion, in two hours, as you did in two minutes.

This type of stuff is constantly happening to me.  I’ll write something or deliver a talk, only to find someone who communicated on that very topic 10 times better than I ever could.  In particular, this is the case with virtually every word that comes from legendary blogger, physicist and climate expert Joe Romm (pronounced “Rome,” believe it or not).  Here are highlights of a fairly recent talk that Romm delivered, summarizing the entire picture of energy and climate change in just a couple dozen slides.  It’s just masterful.

Amazing talk and very scary about rising CO2 affecting cognition. It has affected my congress persons.
The Citizens Climate Lobby has a solution.

Though I knew that the economy of Nuclear energy was bad it was an eye opener how unprofitable they are already.
