Recorte: The Jaw-Dropping Art of Bull-Leaping

Recorte: The Jaw-Dropping Art of Bull-LeapingI’ve often wondered what type of person takes pleasure in watching bullfighting, that is, the torture and killing of an innocent animal as a form of entertainment. By contrast, I would personally greatly enjoy seeing recorte, i.e., bull-leaping.  Check this out; you have to see it to believe it.

I’d like to think that this is part of an important trend in our civilization. Maybe humankind is systematically replacing its old barbaric ways of life with kindness, decency and honest fun.

This dates back to ancient Greece, btw, a time of considerable civility and virtue.

  1. Frank R. Eggers says:

Bull fighting is nothing more than a barbaric substitute for gladiator fights in the Roman coliseum.

  2. Silent Running says:

Right On Brother Frank but this Bull Jumping is something else!

Maybe the trumper will try it and he will miss and we would all be Spared more ugly distractions.

I see Bull fights like you – in NM the erection of statures expensive ones to honor the dis honored Juan D Norte or what ever his name was . He was the Spanish butcher of the Indians and did barbaric things too. Sent back to Spain in China at the end.

But then 300 years later or so our elitist power brokers use lots of public money to build statures of Juan D Norte I think I got his last name wrong but it was the same barbaric hero worshiping that many in our culture Cling to long past its time!

  3. Silent Running says:

Excuse me, he was sent back in Chains and dis honored.

Jump Trump Jump get impaled and go out in a Folly of Ego.
