Gotta Make Sure Environmental Regulations Don’t Harm Consumers
As a huge fan of irony, I love stuff like this:
The slump (in electric vehicle sales) follows Trump’s unexpected victory and a statement from his policy advisor, John Mashburn, that his administration will reexamine vehicle emissions mandates.
“The Trump administration will complete a comprehensive review of all federal regulations,” the statement read. “This includes a review of the fuel economy and emissions standards to make sure they are not harming consumers or American workers.”
Harming consumers? Seriously? There are more than one million people who die each year breathing the aromatics of fossil fuel combustion, and several million more become seriously ill. Here’s a suggestion: Let’s ask their families whether strict environmental standards would have helped or harmed these consumers.
