Free Expression Is Far From Dead

There are a couple of relevant things that could be said about the photo here:

• We live in serious times: the threat of World War III, the criminal insanity in the White House, the demise of public education, environmental catastrophes, and so many other things have taken a good deal of the whimsy and frivolity out of American life.  Fortunately, as evidenced here, this doesn’t apply to everyone.

• We also live in times of grave threats to free speech.  Examples include our president’s aggressive demonizing the press, and Sinclair Broadcasting Group’s recent on-air promotional message read by many of its 193 local news anchors warning viewers about “false news” on competing media outlets.  Once more, we are fortunate that the shutting down of Americans’ free expression has a long way to go until it’s complete.

Maybe things aren’t as bad as they seem.  Keep up the good work out there, guys.
