Happy Days Are Not Here Again
Trump is heavily implicated in a felony, people on both sides of the political spectrum are calling for his resignation/impeachment, and Fox News is offering recipes for Labor Day party coleslaw. Seems par for the course.
These are exciting days for the majority of Americans who can’t wait for this international nightmare to end. But it’s not a good time to underestimate the strain that this process is going to put on American society.
We got an inkling when Trump’s friend Roger Stone, Republican political consultant, lobbyist and strategist, who famously predicted such bloodshed when interviewed long before the growing speculation as to the president’s criminality and dubious loyalty to his country.
Take a good, long look at the photo above, and try to understand what marauding crowds of armed people who think and behave like this is going to be like. Whether Trump resigns and leaves the While House in the back of a chauffeured limousine, or is taken out in the back of an FBI cruiser, it’s going to take months to restore order. That’s because Trump was right: he could walk down Fifth Avenue, shoot somebody in the face, and not lose a single vote.
There is no possible fact, piece of evidence, or point of proof that could change some of these people’s minds.
Brace yourself.
Craig,
The above is just a furious rant, you’re becoming more scary than those you criticize !
Calm down, you will have your opportunity in November to do things the democratic way by voting, not shouting or yelling.
So far, I’ve seen nothing to implicate the President in any felony. Paul Manafort’s offenses occurred many years before and Micheal Cohen appears to be a fairly broken, weak, craven creature suffering from a disintegrating personality.
By screaming and yelling, inciting rage and anger, you’re not part of the solution, but part of the problem.
At least half, maybe more of the nation supports the idea they’re neglected and ignored by an elite backed by a biased media. Do you imagine a campaign to undo by any means, other than through the ballot box, the result of the 2016 election, will calm passions and re-unite the nation?
While the US tears itself apart, Bejing and other enemies/rivals are delighted.
Hi Craig,
I have just been received an opinion by one of America’s leading and most respected Constitutional and Criminal law Professors, which I’ve paraphrased to keep short.
“If Donald Trump instructed his lawyer to pay ‘Stormy Daniels’ or any other woman money to keep silent about alleged sexual liaisons years before, that in itself, would not be crime.
Nor, in itself, would it constitute a “campaign finance violation. No legal authority exists where payment to a woman not to gossip, constitutes a campaign contribution. It breaches no law. Cohen pleading guilty to the “crime” as part of an induced plea deal, doesn’t transform it into a crime ! On the other hand, it may constitute corrupt practice by the prosecution if it were held the plea was for an ulterior purpose or agenda.
Cohen pleaded guilty to unspecified “campaign violations for an unnamed candidate”. details of his plea deal have yet to be revealed.
The Professor confirms my own opinion.
What is Fox News doing! Might as well be buzz feed or the food network!
