Her Highness Moves Earth for a Good Purpose
It’s common knowledge that planting trees (and stopping mass deforestation) is one of the most important tools in preventing environmental collapse. What most of us don’t know is that the Queen of England is perfectly comfortable wielding with the Royal Shovel. Long may she reign.

Her Majesty is a keen gardener and is seen planting a commemorative tree, not a forest.
Although trees can enhance the environment and are certainly beautiful, not all trees or forests are necessarily environmentally beneficial as far as emission reduction is concerned.
Threes can (especially when stressed) emit large quantities of CO2.
More importantly, the amount of methane emitted by trees has on the increase for the best part of 80 years. The amount of methane form an individual tree is relatively insignificant, but there are several trillion Trees, so that’s a lot of methane! Just how much methane, is yet to be calculated.
The calculation is important since as a cause of Climate Change, methane is 30 times more potent than CO2, so the amount and rate of increase could be very significant.
Equally unknown is the way methane an CO2 react together in the upper atmosphere.
The reasons for the increase in methane production aren’t known. While it would be an easy jump to associate the phenomenon with increased industrialization, human activity is less likely than a simple natural mutation or change in activity among the arboreal microbes that produce the methane.
Research has only just begun into the size and complexity of this phenomenon.
It’s estimated the largest destruction of trees in the history of the planet, is occurring right now. Vast swathes of slow growing, ancient forest is being clear-felled in Russia each year.
These forests are irreplaceable. The reason for their destruction is to export the product to Germany for use as “bio-mass” to allow the German government to continue the illusion of ‘Energiewende’ and the nation as a champion of “green” energy.
Tragically ironic.
