What To Do About Hatred and White Supremacy

67923268_895694794142527_5767201979633762304_nWhen I call my mom every few days, I start off asking about family news: health issues, recent achievements, and the like.  Then I often ask, “What’s happening in the world?” causing her to chuckle audibly, as she knows what I really mean: “How is Fox News spinning the events of the day?” Regardless of the reply, we go on to have an amiable conversation, albeit one that fails to change my mind or hers.

I bring this up because of the meme here.  Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, one of the damnable freshmen radical congresspeople, seems to have the temerity to suggest that the horrific divisions that define American politics are not carved in stone, and that some sort of detente is possible.  Of course, Fox News may choose not to cover this at all, but if they do air a viewpoint, since it certainly cannot be supportive, what could it possibly be?  That we stand firmly behind hatred and white supremacy?

Building walls, literal or figurative, may make for lively politics and great ratings for news shows, but it’s no way to build a stable civilization.  AOC’s statement seems unconditionally beautiful, though I know I must be missing something.   Mom?

    Craig,

I’m afraid it will take a lot more to convince anyone not as dewy-eyed or absurdly infatuated as yourself that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,is sincere.

Although young and very intelligent, this disruptive, self-obsessed politician has been a major player in fanning division and hatred in the US with a lengthy series of racist remarks filled with hatred toward any who she classes as opponents or just hold different views.

She plays the ‘race card’ even when no issue exists.

But, in reality, like her, you are not really against hatred per se, just those whom you label ‘white supremacists’. (by definition anyone who does share your political prejudices is a “white supremacist”.

A week ago I invited you to join me in condemning the violent assault and and cowardly beating of a young Asian-American journalist by hooded thugs belonging to the Anti-fa movement.

    Your silence was deafening.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, responded to news of the assaults on several journalists by Anti-fa members saying ” Great! it’s time these racist, fascists got what they deserve!”.

Anti-fa activist, Willem Van Spronsen, attempted to storm the Tacoma, Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility.

Van Spronsen’s mission was to firebomb the building and nearby vehicles. When he attempted to set off a large propane tank connected to the facility, he was killed by police before he could succeed.

The obviously mentally deranged Van Spronsen claimed to have been inspired by the rhetoric of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Anti-fa payed tribute to their fallen “comrade” while Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has steadfastly refused to speak out against Anti-fa, or acknowledge her role in the bombers actions.

Now, I am the first to defend Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as having played no part in the action taken by Van Spronsen. I do not for a minute believe she can be held responsible for the deranged actions of a mentally disturbed person.

However, Alexandria Occasion-Cortez does not extend that commonsense courtesy to the President! Unlike the President she refuse to condemn all violent acts regardless of the origin.

Alexandria Occasion-Cortez continues to support for Anti-Semites, violent leftist organizations and those who wich to discriminate against “whites”.

On a recent talk show, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez nodded in enthusiastic agreement with CNN’s “United Shades of America.” Host W. Kamau Bell who raises money for Antifa, observed, “leftist support for radicals hasn’t been this chic since Leonard Bernstein fundraised for the Black Panthers at his Park Avenue pad ”

When asked about the mob beating of off duty two Marines in Philadelphia, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, refused to condemn the mobs actions but later referred to US marines, border agents and ICE officials as “agents of fascism” and “concentration camp guards”

But, Ocasio-Cortez is just young and delights in extravagant rhetoric. Her “I don’t give two F*cks” comment on national TV to Stephen Combert, reflects the emotional simplicity of her generation and the shallow exhibitionism of her political thinking.

Her claim ” The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change” is symptomatic of youth and over-excitement.

The sentiment in her speech on wealth inequality, “This is war, this is our World War II.” is reminiscent of the ’60’s radical student mantra, “Property is Theft!” and “eat the rich”.

So, I hope you’ll forgive those without your rose-tinted glasses for doubting the young lady’s sincerity and newly found spirit of reconciliation. ‘

AOC’s statement is not “unconditionally beautiful” it’s just more rhetoric shouting “hooray for my side”. Had it contained an equal statement condemning all prejudice and Anti-fa violence, then her sentiments may be taken a little more seriously.

But then, that could be said of your own rhetoric, couldn’t it Craig?
