Reading Trump’s Tarot Cards

I like this guy, Bryce Tache.  He makes predictions, and he’s obviously a person of conscience.

Whether he’s right or not remains to be seen. A few comments.

I regret to admit that it’s possible that Trump beats all this, that he can hold to enough Republican senators to win an acquittal.

• Assuming that’s not the case, that the evidence against him continues to grow and the trend of losing support goes forward unabated, and that he’s removed:

• The GOP will not stand in ruins, at least not for very long.  There will always be conservatives, and it’s only reasonable to believe that George Will, John Kasich, the late John McCain, and people like them will create a viable political party.

• Also, money and politics are not going separate ways anytime soon.  Fossil fuel interests aren’t going to start voting for the Elizabeth Warrens of the world, and magically help transform our world of energy and transportation into renewables and EVs.

• It’s also possible that Trump and his family will leave the country before law enforcement takes them away in handcuffs.  He’s got comrades (sorry, “friends”) all over the world.

• “And then we rebuild.”  That’s interesting; we can only hope.  It’s possible that the nation will learn a valuable lesson, and that the vulgar populism of racist gun-nuts, fired up by “alternative facts,” will be successfully repudiated and will leave us forever.

• Another lesson to be learned, in this case by our elected representatives, is that supporting a criminally insane president is a very, very bad idea.

Again, let’s hope.
