Speculating on the Root of Trump’s Behavior

This statement from neoconservative political analyst Bill Krystol says a great deal.  Sadly, we may never know exactly why Trump is doing the bidding of Putin. Three strong possibilities are:

Corruption.  Putin helped elect Trump on the basis that he, Putin, would get certain things in return.

Enrichment: As it appears we’re about to learn when we see Trump’s tax returns, he may have long-running financial dealings with Russian oligarchs who are close to Putin.

Blackmail. Putin may be threatening to reveal something terrible, e.g., that Trump knowingly accepted political help, and, accordingly, actually is a Russian asset.  Making this even hotter, at this point Trump may consider himself to be in even greater danger now that Putin is running out of things that Trump is in a position to give him.

Never thought I’d see this day.  I guess most of us can say that.

Regular reader Brian McGowan comments: Putin has the pee tape.
I respond: I considered mentioning that.

    Craig,

Now we know you’re getting really desperate!

If the only thing you can drag up about the President are long discredited, ludicrous conspiracy theories, based on perjured and illegally bribed dossiers paid for by democrat slush funds and weird confidence tricksters, you are truly lost in a fantasy of your own making.

    Look at the evidence:

    You claim:

President Trump is in thrall to President Putin.

    Evidence for this claim:

    1) President Trump is not abusive toward Putin.
    2) Various completely discredited conspiracy theories.

    Evidence against:

    1) President trump has increased economic sanctions against Russia.
    2) President Trump has created a program of energy assistance to make small nations bordering Russia less economically dependent on Russia.
    3) President Trump has forced NATO to treble it military capacity in terms of expenditure and personnel.
4)President Trump has campaigned hard to stop Germany and the EU building a massive pipeline under the Baltic ocean giving Russia a massive strategic advantage over NATO and Europe. It should be noted that President Putin has much of his personal fortune both financially and politically tied up in the success of this pipeline project.

If President is successful and the pipeline is cancelled, Putin would lose everything.

Let’s look at some of your other claims:

    Trump is a racist.

    Evidence for this claim:

    1) The President condemns all violent demonstrators of all persuasions, while acknowledging most demonstrators are not violent and sincere.
    2) Presidential pardon for Ex-Sheriff Joe Arpaio

    Evidence against:

    Executive clemency for :

    Jack Johnson, famous black boxer.
    Dinesh Joseph D’Souza, Indian-born American
Rodney Takumi, American Native( Navaho) Indian
    Michael Tedesco,Hispanic-American
    Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin, Orthodox Hebrew
Alice Marie Johnson. American black female
    Ronen Nahmani, Moroccan Orthodox Jew.

The list constitutes roughly 50% of all Trumps’ executive clemency orders.

Of course his friendships with many Black and Native American leaders, long term business partnerships with Asian, Middle Eastern, and Hispanic associates, and his acceptance of a Jewish son in law, are not what you find indicative of the average racist.

    Claim: The President hates Muslims.

    Evidence for the claim:

1)Strong anti-terrorist laws. Denouncing Muslim nations and organizations suspected of harboring or sponsoring terrorism.

    Evidence against:

1)Long term friendships for pro-western Arab nations
2)Long tern friendships and business dealing with Muslim Indonesian and Malaysian partners.

The list could go on and on, but what’s the point? Your attacks against the President are not based on logic or ‘evidence’ but emotive gossip, propaganda and prejudice.

    But, mostly wishful thinking.

    Craig,

    Oh, just as a postscript,

How about President Trump’s determined representations on behalf of an Afro-American rap artist, ” A$AP Rocky” arrested in Sweden subjected to an allegedly racially prosecution?

The fact that A$AP Rocky is a Democrat and vocal Kamela Harris supporter, didn’t deter President Trump from intervening on his behalf.

Kinda contradicts your narrative just a little don’t you think?
