Insight Into Government Ethics

Here’s an interesting statement from Walter Shaub, an American attorney specializing in government ethics who, from January 9, 2013 to July 19, 2017, was the director of the United States Office of Government Ethics.

This presumes the lights are indeed turned back on, but by what agency might that happen?  We’re 1000 days into this, and almost 40% of the U.S. electorate thinks that Trump is an honest and effective president.   Yes, the other 60% recognizes his constant lying, his cruel and erratic behavior, and his indifference to the needs of the American people, not to mention everyone else living on this planet, but there seems to be very little movement here.

Suppose the (slim) majority of voters get their wish and Trump is impeached and removed.  Are we to expect his supporters to come around and say, “Oh.  I guess he really was a terrible person and even worse president?”  Not in a million years.

As shown on the right here, however, Dan Rather disagrees.  Hope he’s right.

    Craig,

Where was ol’ Walter Shaub’s ethical opinions during the Obama era? Dis he comment when young Hunter Biden flew to China on Air force two with his father the then Vice-President to collect a $1.5 billion payday?

Does ol’ Walter really believe young Hunter was so valuable an asset if he hadn’t been the son of the VP and arrived with the VP, he was worth $1.5 billion ?

Oh yeah, and where was Walter’s ‘ethical outrage’ when young Hunter and his father as Vice-President, repeated the same corrupt practices in the Ukraine?

Didn’t ol’ Walter alert President Obama to this ‘ethical’ problem? No ? I guess not, because Obama already knew and approved.

How about ol’ HC and her campaign paying foreign agencies and agents to create false dossiers with which to smear her political rivals, what about her lies and….oh well, the list goes on and on..

Where was ol’ Walter’s ‘ethical’ outrage then ?

Walter’s ‘ethical’ opinions seem to be very selective….

But then ‘truth’ and accuracy aren’t big ethical considerations ’round the cracker barrel are they?

60% of voters do not want the President impeached or defeated, that’s just a lie which you think if you repeat long enough, it may become true?

    So much for ‘ethics’……..
