Oxford Dictionaries Declare ‘Climate Emergency’ the Word of 2019
You’ll travel a long way to meet someone who knows more about the business and science of energy than my colleague Stephen Lacey, contributing editor with Greentech Media. This morning he tweeted: “Usage of the term ‘climate-emergency’ increased 100-fold in the space of 12 months.”
Remarkably, there are still people who remain victims of the sheer enormity of the climate change disinformation campaigns disseminated by the oil companies, but these people are becoming fewer with each passing day. Though public opinion is irrelevant when it comes to matters of science, it’s good to to have an educated populace in order to drive government-based mitigation efforts.
