Global Tipping Point
From CNN: “A global tipping point is a threshold when the planet’s systems go beyond the point of no return — such as the loss of the Amazon rainforest, accelerated melting of ice sheets, and thawing of permafrost — the authors of the commentary say. Such a collapse could lead to “hothouse” conditions that would make some areas on Earth uninhabitable. “We argue that the intervention time left to prevent tipping could already have shrunk towards zero, whereas the reaction time to achieve net zero emissions is 30 years at best,” the authors said.
From the Financial Times: The analysis of nine climate “tipping points” concludes that we are in a “planetary emergency”, and possibly heading towards a hothouse Earth.

If you don’t understand, ask a question from someone who knows more about it… ASK, don’t offer some casual insult based off of a random lie that you heard from a propagandist… Initiate dialogue, ask a question, and try to learn something.

Glenn Doty asks “please don’t listen to a propagandist”.
He than advises to be guided by the wisdom of CNN, propagandists of a differing persuasion!
Currently, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, her 14 congressional ducklings and retinue of hanger’s on and family she includes at the expense of the taxpayer, is flying to the UN climate conference in sunny Spain known as COP 25.
Never mind Congress is still in session and Adam Shiff is sinking in the morass he created, or the fact that many important government bills are still awaiting her attention, quite sensibly ol’ Nancy has hightailed it off to Spain to clad herself in the cloak of “mother nature”, leaving Adam Shiff and his fellow gremlin Nader to deal with the problem of an endless impeachment in search of a crime.
Mother Earth has summoned Nancy and her hundred or so followers on a taxpayer funded junket to a UN snore-a-thon talkfest!
As another attendee Reuters journalist, Roger L. Simon observed;
“Such events are among the biggest snore-athons known to man and woman, a complete waste of time on almost every level and an even more excessive waste of money, totally pointless.
You can learn more about climate science while multi-tasking on your computer or certainly by reading one essay by Danish author Bjorn Lomborg who takes the balanced view that some warming may be occurring but it is not nearly worth the panic evinced by the left. In fact, that panic may be retarding a rational solution”.
The problem is not really with the science but with the advocacy.
The passionate desire to convert conjecture into certainty. Where the scientist uses terms like “may” “could” “possibly” or “on present understanding”, advocates like those on CNN (including the ever outraged Glenn Doty) re-interpret as “will” “definitely” and “conclusively”.
When the events don’t occur and predictions fail, these advocates don’t seek the reasons why the were wrong or inaccurate, they simply shout louder or project the claim further into the future.
Unlike ol’ Glenn and the rest of the cracker barrel crowd, I try to broaden my reading to all sides and shades of opinion in any debate concerning public affairs.
I suppose I’m one of those annoying people who read the actual reports and studies, not just the “interpretations of them by agenda driven media commenters.
True believers like Ol’ Glenn don’t need to read the actual “Paris Agreement”, they just accepts the interpretation of the document by a CNN commentator (who never read it either) an article of faith.
Because that’s what climate change advocacy has become, no longer science, but a weird juxtaposition of faith, ideology and politics.
Rational debate and healthy skepticism of outlandish claims is now met by ferocious abuse and condemnation by climate change fanatics.
Meanwhile, while Nancy’s flying on a junket trip to Spain, President Trump is delivering.
The Trump administration:
1) broke ground on new border wall in the Rio Grande Valley.
2) border apprehensions dropped in October for the first time in seven years,
3)finalized a new transparency rule to lower hospital and insurance costs
4) negotiated a cease-fire in Syria
5) secured a major trade concession with China on intellectual property,
6) African American unemployment hit another record low
7) collected 882,919 pounds of unused prescription drugs to fight opioid addiction
8)saw the stock market hit multiple new highs.
9 killed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
10) Obtained real justice for three US service personnel.
Oh well, never mind, I’m sure when Nancy gets back she will have achieved,…..hmmm,….
