Free Public Transportation in Luxembourg
This translates (literally) as “As the first country in the world: Luxembourg makes bus and train free.”
If you’re serious about reducing VMT (vehicle miles traveled), this is certainly one weapon in your arsenal. I’m sure it makes people reconsider car ownership itself.

The whole country is smaller than most American cities!
However, with an average of 662 vehicles per 1,000 inhabitants, Luxembourg has the highest percentage of car ownership in the EU, which has slightly increased with the introduction of free bus travel.
