Interpreting the Constitution in These Horrible Times
Here’s a compilation of interviews with people coming out of a church service a couple of days ago in Ohio–one to which she had brought her little kids. I didn’t get through it all, but the lady in the first clip said all that needed to be: “This service is the ONLY place to be. I’m unconcerned (about disease) because I’m bathed in the blood of Christ.”
This calls to mind the U.S. Constitution and the interpretation of the First Amendment’s guarantee of religious freedom. In this lady’s “mind,” her religion allows, in fact, compels her to expose hundreds of people, including her children, to a disease that’s running through our population at exponentially growing rates, targeting mainly regions of the country whose people ignore hygiene warnings.
Where does her rights end and mine begin?
Apparently not in Ohio.
