“A Free Society Depends on a Vibrant Religious Life Among the People?”
This seems like a bizarre assertion, even from William Barr, a man with no more allegiance to the truth than his boss.
Let’s look at the charts below and ask ourselves: Do the people of the Deep South (living in poverty and ignorance) have a freer society than those of New England (living in affluence and higher education)? Do the Africans (living with disease, malnutrition and tyranny), the Middle Easterners (living in theocratic regimes) and Central/South Americans (living with violent crime and poverty) have freer societies than the Australians, Canadians, and Europeans (living with free education and healthcare, and generous vacation schedules)?
