Trump Draws Nation’s Ire (One More Time)
When my mom and I speak on the phone, the subject of Trump comes up frequently, and I sometimes say, “I think (latest outrage) may be the one that pushes him off the cliff.” Mom then replies, “Do you realize you’ve been saying that every week or so for the past three years?”
I have to laugh; she is right, of course. There have been so many incidents that would have crushed any other political career like a grape.
How do you get caught withholding $390 million of congressionally approved money earmarked for military aid to an ally under attack from an enemy–to pressure that ally for a political favor, and live to tell the tale?
How do you survive deliberately ignoring the warning of the scientific community about a deadly disease so you don’t look bad, resulting in your country’s ranking #1 in pandemic deaths and the loss of 40 million jobs?
Yesterday, Trump ordered the tear gassing of peaceful protesters exercising their First Amendment rights to make way for a vile photo-op.
This just may be the one.
