Tesla Surges, Ford and GM Falter
2GreenEnergy supporter Cameron Atwood writes: Hi, my friend. Seen this? Why Tesla Is Surging While Ford And GM Struggle (NASDAQ:TSLA).
• Tesla surges while legacy manufacturers are struggling to transform.
• Mindset is critical, Tesla has it while Ford and GM are in survival mode.
• With mindset comes opportunity, but execution is critical; Tesla is outstanding at execution.
• GM tries to talk the talk about its battery electric vehicle program, while struggling to survive. Ford is all about its brand, which is built on ICE cars.
• Tesla shares reach $1000 milestone (bigger market capitalization than Toyota) but COVID-19 isn’t done, so caution is needed about investing at this time.

No I hadn’t. Thanks very much.
This trend (i.e., the hegemony of Tesla) is certain to continue, as the price of technology comes down and the price of pistons, etc., doesn’t. Again, it doesn’t matter how little we care about the environment; this transition is almost completely driven by cost.
Also, as the reports say, Tesla is great at execution. They know what they’re doing, and they make very few mistakes.
Note that the price of their common stock is $1000/share! People argued that it was overpriced when it was at $200 a few years ago.
I had the displeasure of sitting next to a conservative Trump supporter at a dinner party recently, who was telling me that the SEC should make it illegal for Tesla to sell stock, because, he said, it’s a Ponzi scheme and that old ladies could lose their nest-eggs. I had consumed a couple of drinks, and I called him a name I won’t publish, but the points are:
• Tesla’s stock is volatile, but the company, with respect to its stock price at least, isn’t doing anything even immoral, let alone illegal, and
• TSLA may not be a great investment for most old ladies, especially at $1000, though they should be represented by savvy financial advisers in the first place.
Elon Musk didn’t do the right thing re: reopening his plant during the pandemic, but he’s quite admirable in a great number of other ways.
What a lethal shame it would be if such desperately needed technology, developed by a fantastic team, under a rare and sharp leader, were to be crushed under restraint of trade, by ignorance and the greed of entrenched interests.
Indeed.
