Power of U.S. Passport Falls, Now Tied with Mexico’s
The power of the U.S. passport, i.e., the number of countries to which American travelers can visit without visas, has dropped in recent years, due to friction created by the Trump administration’s abusive foreign policies, and now, of course, by the incredible spike in COVID-19 cases.
That having been said, this is one of those issues that is extremely unlikely to cause any damage whatsoever to the solidity of Trump’s voter base, as they:
• Generally don’t travel abroad.
• Couldn’t care less that the U.S. is reviled around the world, and
• Are extremely unlikely to hear about this from blogs like this one.
It sure will be good to have this all behind us.
