Military Times Poll: U.S. Armed Forces Wants a New Leader
A recent Military Times poll of active duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces shows Biden ahead of Trump by a margin of 50% – 38%, and 42% said they had a “very unfavorable” view of the president. But how can this be? Democrats are normally viewed, at least by war hawks, as weak on national defense. What gives?
Oh, how about: his five deferments from serving in Vietnam, blasting the news media (and thus the First Amendment), bypassing the military justice system and pardoning a convicted war criminal, allowing Putin to keep bounties on the heads of U.S. troops, smearing all 17 agencies of the intelligence community, extorting Ukraine at the cost of national security, abandoning the Kurds in Northern Syria, using the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (Milley, shown above) in an attempt to legitimize gassing peaceful protesters, and insulting all POWs because he said (re: John McCain) that he doesn’t like people who get captured.
Then you have the top generals like Mattis, Kelly, McMaster, McRaven, McChrystal, and Mullen–all taking the extremely rare tack of scorching Trump’s character and mental faculties, thus challenging his fitness to lead.
The icing on the cake is Trump’s habitual lying. Military folks tend to be honest, and when they swear an oath to something, e.g., the U.S. Constitution, they mean it.
