Pandemic Ripping Through the Trump Administration
No decent human being should wish disease on another. But if someone’s going to contract a disease, shouldn’t it be the person who selfishly defied the extremely clear instructions of doctors and scientists, rather than the person who, in order to protect the welfare of the entire population, went to the effort to comply?
COVID-19 and the U.S.’s pathetic response to it have shown precisely how far we are from a sustainable society. The epidemiological community tells us that we’re about to experience an ongoing string of infectious diseases, not unlike the current pandemic. Yet we seem unable to implement even the most feeble set of policies in order to keep our society safe and healthy.
