“I Wish Trump Could Die”

A reader commented on the photo here as follows: I wish he (Trump) could die.

I don’t.

Sure, he richly deserves punishment, but I care far more about the fate of this country than I do about the justice that is due to one person, albeit a walking force for pure evil.

The Trump phenomenon needs to be thoroughly repudiated.  This nation’s people need to understand that racism, lies, greed, selfishness, criminality, cruelty, and revenge are not valid ways of behaving–for anyone–and certainly the President of the United States.

Is this about to happen?  There’s no way to know, but if it does, it will come through the criminal prosecution, conviction, and imprisonment of Donald Trump.  Moreover, he needs to go down on a crime or set of crimes that go past tax evasion and business fraud.  In fact, screw tax evasion and business fraud. Get him on witness intimidation, election tampering, obstruction of justice, inciting a riot, and/or sedition.

Of course, even if this happens, there are going to be people who will say he was “harassed by the radical left.”  Trust me, the moron who lives in the house (in my town) behind the flags here (still flying today) isn’t going to say, “Er, sorry.  Guess you boys was right all along.” But many people will move on from this nightmare in U.S. history and return to some level of civility and decency.
