Did Prosecuting Trump for His Role in Jan 6th Riot Just Get Easier Thanks to Capitol Officers’ Testimony?

From NBC News:

All of them – all of them were telling us, ‘Trump sent us.” In harrowing, heart-wrenching testimony before a House select committee established to investigate the events of Jan. 6, U.S. Capitol Police Sgt. Aquilino A. Gonell and his Capitol Police and D.C. Metropolitan Police Department colleagues described last week how those they witnessed violently breaching the Capitol explicitly pointed to then-President Donald Trump’s role in causing the insurrection.

Sorry.  If you think you’re going to send a President of the United States to prison on the testimony of 600 criminal idiots, think again.  Think of how fast and hard cross-examination is going to crash down when they are asked, “Precisely how did President Trump ‘send you?'”

Trump may very well go to prison.  This can happen as penalty for a variety of felonies, and one of which may be the charge that he incited the insurrection.  But no prosecutor is going to go forward with a case that depends on evidence on the thought processes of the morons who stormed the Capitol.
