Trump Accuses Netanyahu of Disloyalty: ‘F**k Him.’
There are two main take-aways from what we learned about Trump’s relationship with Benjamin Netanyahu a couple of days ago (see video below). First, the notion of this “bromance” between the two was put up for political purposes only, both in the United States and in Israel. It never, in fact, existed. No real surprise there.
Second, it provides yet another window into the former president’s complete lack of character. Netanyahu congratulated the incoming president of the United States, which is something long-term friends do (he and Biden actually are friends), not to mention the fact that doing so was a diplomatic necessity. This infuriated Trump, who took this as an indication of disloyalty. No surprise here either.
This is the type of childish, crude, and boorish behavior that Air Force One had been carting all over the globe for the four years of Trump’s tenure. One can only imagine how foreign leaders regarded this vulgar, dishonest brat.
Trump is still doing everything in his power to overturn the 2020 election and/or stack the deck in advance of 2024. Our democracy is teetering on the edge.
People occasionally ask me why the main focus of my writing has shifted so dramatically from clean energy to politics. It’s because this world will survive the next few years, coasting along as it is, with respect to decarbonization. It will not survive another term of Donald Trump turning the United States government into rubble.
